I am a student (undergrad anthropology & communication / MPA) with an interest in how our environment shapes us and how we alter the space around us. My career goals lay somewhere between urban planner and town administrator. I would like to develop communities with an emphasis on well-being. This website is a little project to encourage myself to write more and get organized.
On this site I plan to publish blogs about whatever little idea I am interested in, whether it be a historical event, concepts for a creative project, or just musings about life. Whatever it is, it will be from my perspective. I want to develop my voice as a writer instead of just relying on an inauthentic one from ChatGPT. This will be somewhere between a journal and a portfolio.
Creative Pursuits
For the past several years I have been working on worldbuilding with the hopes of publishing a book one day. It is a fantasy world with elves, dwarves, and everything like that. I want to make it distinct and I want it to feel like a representation of me rather than a cliche copy and pasted version of Tolkien. As an artist, I want to create a series of works that focus on this world. Paintings, drawings, animations, and stories. Like an anthropologist exploring a different culture, I want to showcase the grounded side of fantasy.
Since I was 14 I have been creating animated videos. I fell out of the hobby for a few years, but I would like to get back into it. There is something so fulfilling about creating a story and watching it play out. Exploring 2D animation would be fun.
